The January Lanterns - think Phoebe Bridgers lyrics meets Bon Iver backing tracks and The Paper Kites harmonies - are a Columbia, MO husband/wife pop folk band that are ready to light up the night sky with their debut album - For the Kids, When They’re Older. The album will be released on Friday, January 21st.

The January Lanterns are ready to share their story and their new music after the stand-still and continuing hardships of the music industry during the pandemic. The band started in 2017 after Kristen and Andrew forged a new path to save their marriage. They started writing songs and used music as a form of therapy and a way to fall back in love. The project started small and now they are continuing to grow their music career and their love for each other.

The January Lanterns were recently featured on the Tony Kornheiser Show and they have a glowing album review featured in the Columbia Daily Tribune. They have played in Columbia, MO’s largest music festival, “Roots N Blues” and in 2021 they won the “Voices of Columbia” award to a sold out crowd at Rose Music Hall in their hometown.

They are ready to celebrate the release by taking the stage at The Blue Note in Columbia, MO on Saturday, March 12th 2022 for their first album release party. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm with local artist, Katie Anne, on the bill. This show is $8 in advance at thebluenote.com and $10 at the door.

They plan to continue to set the sky ablaze with their new music. They are currently setting up shows in Mid-Missouri - Columbia, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Springfield - and are ready to take their message of music and love through Missouri and beyond.
